ABOUT THE ARTIST
Morgan started violin lessons at the age of 3 and a half. She studied the Suzuki method with Mr. Charles Krigbaum until she graduated high school in 2020. She currently studies Violin Performance at SMU Meadows school of the Arts under Professor Diane Kitzman, Principal 1rst Violin of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. Morgan is a member of the Meadows Symphony Orchestra.
Before coming to SMU, she was a member of the DAAYO (Dallas Asian American Youth Orchestra) Symphony. During her time with the ensemble she performed a variety of both Western and Eastern Classical works as well as music from opera and film.
Morgan has performed in solo recitals, various ensemble and chamber groups, and orchestra. She has played a wide variety of repertoire from the Baroque,Classical, Romantic and contemporary periods.
Morgan is committed to serving her community through music. In the past, she has performed in volunteer concerts, both solo and in ensemble. She has organized yearly holiday concerts for a local retirement center since 2015, and curated the entire concert program including original arrangements and transcriptions.
Besides being a versatile classical musician, Morgan has wide experience performing Gospel/Worship music in a variety of contexts. For several years she has been part of an ensemble that performs music for religious services, as well as concerts and shows. She has collaborated with well-known gospel artist Sandi Patti. She has a large christian music repertoire, from old-time gospel to classic hymns to modern worship songs.
